Sherray Panagapka - I’m sure a lot of artistically inclined people have at one point in their lives asked themselves if they chose their art or did it choose them? I say music chose me at an early age and it has yet to relinquish its hold.

ARTIST BIO
Sherray
At age 6, Sherray began taking piano lessons at a Convent in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. She studied classical music well into high school with the Royal Conservatory of Canada. She sang in the school choirs, telethons, Cabarets and formed a band with her brother Michael. Years later, while attending Fashion Design and Business Admin at Ryerson in Toronto, Sherray played keyboards in a band called the Hollow Men…the band gained local recognition when they participated in the Q-107 Homegrown contest and placed in the top 10. After university, Sherray moved to Montreal played bass and sang for a few years. She went into a self imposed art exile for several years before forming the band Loose Change in 2001 with Garry Ciambella, Mark Kabbas and Michel Careau. The band performs a variety of genres of music from classic rock, pop to alternative. Sherray recently began solo shows, just her and her piano…performing the softer side of her repertoire. Her musical influences include Fleetwood Mac, U-2, the Beatles, Aerosmith, INXS, Melissa Etheridge, the Guess Who and Sarah McLachlan. Sherray’s other loves are painting and teaching. Her artwork can be seen by selecting the link to Sherray Design. She will be exhibiting her work with the Hudson Art Group in October. She also teaches piano / voice / art in the St Lazare / Hudson area.
